Eric Kruse
I’m Eric Kruse, a lifelong woodworker and artist who believes every piece of wood has a story to tell. My journey began in my father’s workshop, where I spent hours as a kid surrounded by sawdust, tools, and the joy of creating with my hands. That early love for the craft never left me.
Today, I work almost exclusively with reclaimed, salvaged, and recycled wood, letting each piece’s natural character—its knots, curves, and imperfections—guide the design. No two pieces are alike, and that’s what I love most.
My work is inspired by the outdoors—towering trees, open landscapes, full moons—and the timeless charm of vintage Volkswagens. I create custom pet portraits, abstract scenes, and nature-inspired pieces, all carved by hand and finished with my own handmade stains.
Now based in Golden, Colorado, I share my work through Signed in Wood. Let’s talk art and wood:
