J. Michael Kessler
A native Texan, Michael began painting professionally before moving to Oklahoma City, where he taught oil painting for seven years and opened his own studio. A versatile artist, he works in oil, acrylic, and clay, exploring a wide range of subjects and techniques. His formal art education began at Central Oklahoma University under the direction of George Clow. He also studied with the Students Art League and is a graduate of the Colorado Institute.
Michael’s work is represented in both public and private collections and has been exhibited in galleries in Oklahoma City, Taos, Georgetown, and throughout Colorado. He has participated in numerous juried, invitational, and open shows.
In addition to fine art, Michael owns Silk Images, his floral design business. As a Certified Professional Florist, he taught floriculture at Emily Griffith Technical College and has designed trade shows, color palettes, and interior décor. He believes art is a deeply personal, ever-evolving journey of discovery.
