Susan Silverman
Susan is an artist, designer, and art educator who enjoys working with a wide range of art materials. She spent 32 years teaching high school art in Colorado public schools and holds a B.A. in Art, a K–12 Art Education Certification, and an M.A. in Fine Art. Currently, Susan focuses on metal arts, specializing in jewelry design that is sculptural, creative, and one of a kind.
With a lifelong passion for gemstones, rocks, and minerals, Susan brings her geology background and decades of jewelry-making experience to each piece she creates. She carefully selects high-quality stones based on hue, size, shape, and texture, then builds custom designs around them. As her ideas move from two-dimensional drawings to three-dimensional forms, the designs often evolve in unexpected ways.
Using metals, freshwater pearls, anodized titanium, and semi-precious stones, she transforms raw materials into small, wearable sculptures, balancing color, texture, symmetry, and form with thoughtful, hands-on craftsmanship.
