Ellen Nelson

Ellen Nelson has been an Evergreen-based professional photographer “forever,” working as a university photographer, photojournalist, portrait photographer and freelance photographer, while shooting for Time, Ms., and many newspapers and Colorado magazines. Her award-winning photos have been used in advertisements worldwide. Ellen’s photo of mountain goat kids, “New Kids on the Rock” was the cover image on the 2019 September/October issue of Colorado Life and her Florida Scrub-Jay photo was selected as a 2017 Audubon Photography Awards: Top 100. She recently completed her Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) requirements, a prestigious designation achieved by only 2500 photographers worldwide, and earned a bronze medal in the 2019 International Photographic Competition.
